The Collectors’ Society and The Hidden Library Reviews

So, for this review, I’m doing two books in one review. I’m doing that because for the most part, my review for the second book is the same as the first book. Anyway, you can find a synopsis for both books here. For The Collectors’ Society, there are three things that I wish were different about the book. The first thing is that I wished that the whole getting to Wonderland plotline had progressed a lot faster that it had. I mean, I get that the author had to set the beginning of the story in order for the rest of the story to make sense, such as Alice learning about 21st Century technology, but it wasn’t until the story was about half way to two-thirds done that we, as the audience, get to Wonderland. The second thing that I would change is Alice and Finn’s relationship. I thought that their relationship had been rushed. It’s not that because their relationship wasn’t well developed. It’s just that it felt like it went from 0 to 160 in no time. The third thing that I wish was different was the sex scenes. Now, keep in mind that I am not opposed to sex scenes in books, given the right context. What I mean by that is I expect sex scenes to be either implied, or in romance novels or books like Fifty Shades of Grey. I definitely did not expect the sex scenes to be described as it is to be in a book like The Collectors’ Society. Anyway, as The Hidden Library, I found it to be very interesting. It makes me want to read the next book.

Ensnared Review

Like my previous post, it’s been a while since I finished reading Ensnared by A.G. Howard. Because of that, I can’t really give a good review of the book. I will say this though. I liked the story. I felt that it was a good conclusion to the Splintered trilogy.

Unhinged Review Part Three

So, I finally finished reading Unhinged by A.G. Howard. And all I can say is that I can’t wait for the next book. Obviously, I won’t give away what happened but what happened at the end is a definite cliffhanger.

Unhinged Review Part Two

Ok, I think this will be the first time I have to write a third post in regards to a book review. I was not able to finish Unhinged by A.G. Howard yet, due to school and being sick. So, this review will only be from the start of chapter 13 to the end of chapter 20. And I will hopefully be able to post the last part tomorrow. Anyway, all I can really say right now without spoiling the story is that it is getting really interesting. I’m excited to see what is going to happen next.

Unhinged Review Part One

So, I am currently reading Unhinged by A.G. Howard, which is the second book in the Splintered series. You can get a basic synopsis here. This review will be up until the end of chapter 12. Unfortunately, since I’ve only read twelve chapters so far, there’s not much to write about. There was only one thing that is worth mentioning and that is the main character finds out a piece of information about her mother that she didn’t know about. I won’t give it away, but it is a shocking piece of information. And it all makes sense with the main character’s mother’s behavior up until that point. Anyway, I will report back the next part next week.

The Fight Between Alice And The Jabberwock

I recently watched The Princess Bride and obviously saw the fight between the Dread Pirate Roberts and Inigo Montoya on the Cliffs of Insanity. Anyway, you’re probably wondering how it relates to the fight between Alice and the Jabberwock from Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland. Well, as I was watching The Princess Bride, it dawned on me that the two fights were similar. I say that because both fights start off on a flat surface, then goes up to a set of stairs, and then ends with the winner back on the ground. Anyway, that’s just what I think.

The Jabberwock vs. Chernabog

I rewatched Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland last Saturday to help write a school paper. Anyway, I saw this the first time I saw Alice In Wonderland but it didn’t dawn on me until the second time I watched. Have you guys noticed that the way that the jabberwocky came forward was very similar to the way that Chernabog from Fantasia woke up? To be quite honest, I’m not surprised by that because Disney was involved with both movies.
